National Children's Science Congress

The national level competition of the National Children Science Congress (NCSC) was held in VEL’S UNIVERSITY from 27th dec to 31st Dec. Participants from various states presented their respective projects. Accommodation and food facilities for the students and the accompanying guide teachers were provided by the University. The 18th NCSC was inaugurated on 27th dec by T.N chief minister M.Karunanidhi. A variety of programs were conducted for the next four days. The projects were evaluated by the judges from the NCSC. Cultural programs depicting their state’s culture were also held. Interesting sessions like ‘‘Meet the scientist “ were conducted in which students were able to interact directly with the scientists. The program included a meet with Dr. Mylsamy Annadurai who gave a brief description about astronomy. The event concluded with a valedictory function which was presided by Nobelite Dr. Venkataraman Ramakrishnan. We are happy to inform that our group consisting of me Vishwas, Krisha Menon, Sneha Mohan, Yashashwini and Sailalitha guided by our teacher Mrs.Padmapriya from Vels Vidyashram have performed well in the competition and have bought laurels to the school in the form of medals and certificates. All the participants enjoyed the program thoroughly and the program was a grand success.
