The year 2010 has been declared as the International Year of Biodiversity

Human activity is causing damage to the diversity of life on Earth. The losses are irreversible, impoverish us all and damage the life support systems we rely on everyday. But we can prevent them. Therefore2010 being the International Year of Biodiversity, let us focus on the urgency of our challenge for the future. Now is the time to act.
