WORKSHOP ON CCE

Teachers handling English for classes I to VIII attended a workshop on ‘Continuous and Comprehensive Evaluation’ at the Kamaraj Hall , SBOA School and Junior College campus , on 31st March’12. With the State Govt. allocating 40% for ‘Formative Assessment’, an early orientation was considered vital. The resource person was Mrs.Sudha Ravi, ELT Expert , Oxford Univ.Press. Mrs.Reita John , our Principal, welcomed Mrs.Sudha Ravi, the resource person and Mr.Vinod Kuriakose and his team from Oxford Univ .Press , who were also present . She spoke at length about the efforts taken by the Management to equip teachers with the current pedagogical skills. Mrs.Indra Jayaraj, A.S English and French , introduced the resource person to the teachers. Mrs.Sudha Ravi explained the meaning of CCE and the techniques and activities to be employed to assess the skills of students for holistic development. The workshop was only a precursor but it prepared the teachers for the paradigm shift from Exam Oriented System to Learner Oriented System. The workshop concluded with the vote of thanks proposed by Mrs.Indra Jayaraj.
