DIL BOLE HADIPA!!

The movie stars Shahid Kapoor and Rani Mukhjerjee……a pretty odd but cute couple cast opposite each other for the first time on the silver screen.
It has a solid foundation of equal rights for men and women. Although this point has been exaggerated to a certain extent in the movie, it is still a brilliant romantic comedy.
Veera is a small time theatre actress in the mobile theatre owned by her father but with the fact that she can hit six sixes of an over (just like Yuvraj Singh in the 20-20 world cup), she has big time reams of playing for the Indian cricket team (mind you……she has no interest to join the women’s team because she can play as well as the guys…!!!)
Her dream is fulfilled when Rohan (Shahid Kapoor) begins selections for his dad’s (Anupam Kher) Indian team. The catch here is that Veera is not a part of the team but…Veer Pratap Singh is…!!!
The comedy in the movie is brought about mainly by Rani Mukherjee’s role as Veer Pratap Singh.
Although the film insults 20-20 cricket to the best of its ability…..the suspense kept till the revelation of Veera as Veer keeps the audience glued to their seats.
Certain boring but brief appearances of Rakhi Sawant are present but we have to accept the fact that….that is comedy in a different style…!!!!

THE VERDICT:

The movie has brilliant appearances of Bollywood’s blue eyed baby and also an insight into a different side of Rani…….and that’s the main reason why the movie has been going “ so far so good”…..
