Diwali Dhamaka
The title says it all. Yes, Gateway the Complete School, Padur, did have a Dhamaka this Diwali.
Wednesday 22nd October and Thursday 23rd October, students from the four different houses did presentations on Diwali Celebrations around India.
On Friday the 24th, some of the students were unfortunately not present, as they were in robotics and had another commitment. The rest of us came to school in traditional dresses. And a cocktail of fine clothes were brought out of the closet. Korean students came traditional Korean outfits. People also turned up wearing Australian, French, and Malay clothes
At about 10:50 the eighth grade girls had an idea of drawing rangoli in the middle of the lobby. And they accomplished it too, with the help of a few teachers.
After lunch, the students had PE. Most people were playing leg cricket, a concoction with a unique blend of cricket and football.
After the game, Padma ma'am arrived. Diyas were placed around the rangolis, the second of which had been drawn by the ayahs during the game.
The bursting of fire-crackers started. Sweets were passed around inside.
As the day drew to an end, our robotics team arrived, exhausted but happy, and received a warm welcome by us.
We boarded the buses, and the Diwali Dhamaka opened the way for holidays.
Life is a Dhamaka.
