Touched by their visit to a special school during their NSS field trip, Ritika Shankar
of class IX-H, has expressed her heartfelt feelings in the form of a poem. The
other NSS volunteers sincerely collected toys, puzzles, comics, picture books, etc,
and packed them and donated to Deepika Special School. The response for the
donations from the Dipsites was overwhelming.
On 15th September, a few volunteers handed over the donations to the members
of the special school. Ritika read out a poem she had composed and dedicated it
to the special children. This gesture was highly appreciated by the Principal, Mrs.
Sita Krishnamurthy, of the special school, who helped students interpret the
essence of the poem.
All in all, the Dipsites once again carved a niche by proving that “Happiness lies in
giving than in receiving”.
The poem composed by RITIKA :
Happy life to me!
I want nothing,
Because life has given a lot to me,
I’m the happiest person on earth.
What God doesn’t give to all
He gives it to me.
I’m so happy that I’m so lucky.
Why God, sometimes I feel you are so partial,
When you give nothing to others
And everything to me.
Please God, give something to others from me,
Give them what they need,
And this is what I want,
The most in my life!
