CVMUN’12 - Students & the World

By Anuli Vyas , XI , H

The fourth edition of CVMUN was a wondrous success. Students discussing current world affairs, debating over proper resolutions and teenagers finding themselves in the shoes of diplomats, this was what Chettinad Vidyashram Model United Nations was all about. This was by far the largest and the most successful MUN hosted by CV with students participating from different schools. Acting Counsel of Japan, Mr. Takayuki Kitagawa also graced this event with his august presence. Besides him, there were also guest chairs invited from different cities as well (Shreshta Balachander and Akshat Jain). The 21st and 22nd of July, 2012 perhaps were the most anticipated days by the Organizing committee who put up a great show with all their combined efforts. Not only did this MUN give students an opportunity to debate like a diplomat, argue like the representatives of countries and come up with feasible solutions for problems at hand, but this MUN also made every participant enjoy to the fullest. The entire experience was fun-filled and most undoubtedly an unforgettable one. From the agendas to the newsletters, everything was well-prepared and efficiently planned. CVMUN was without a doubt a humongous success and was another one of CV’s many endeavours taken up to expose its students to the world. With the support of Meena Aunty and Principal Mrs. Amudha Lakshmi; and teachers of the Social Science department CVMUN has clearly been an event that one would never forget.
