Inter House Group Song Competition

The Middle Department organised Inter House Group Song Competition on 10th Aug 2010 to celebrate India’s independence. Leading columnists and Senior Vice President of All India Newspapers Editors’Conference, Ms. Manorama Dewan graced the occasion as the Chief Guest. Ms. Shashi Bhatnagar, TGT (Hindi), Ms. Chetna Arora and Ms. Archana Kamal, both music teachers at Bal Bharati judged the competition.
The show commenced with the school Principal, Shri L.V. Sehgal, Chief Guest, Head Mistress, Ms. Anita Garg and the judges lighting the ceremonial lamp. The programme offered much more than a musical treat. Before the group song presentation by each house, different speakers spoke on the life of famous freedom fighters like Subhash Chandra Bose, Rani Ki Jhansi, Mahatama Gandhi etc. Each presentation was followed by energising patriotic songs such as “Vande Mataram”, “Hojao Taiyyar”etc.
After a stunning performance by all the eight houses, the results were announced by the judges. In the Group Song category, Ashoka House stood first, Mother Teresa House bagged the second position and the third position was shared by C.V. Raman and Shivaji House. In the Anchoring category Shivaji House stood first.
Chief Guest, Ms. Manorama Dewan, Head Mistress Ms. Anita Garg and the judges congratulated the winners and the participants for putting up an inspiring and a brilliant show.
